My kidneys were doing terrible… doctors came in this am and said they are improving so much,” she wrote.
Initial Health Scare and Support
Cori’s stroke was a significant health scare. She announced the news on her Instagram Story, revealing her emotional response to the diagnosis.
“I had a severe stroke this am… I started breaking down crying when they told me,” she shared. Her friend, Itali Miller, also posted a message of support, asking people to send well wishes to Cori.
Itali’s heartfelt post included a picture of Cori smiling in her hospital bed, holding an elephant plush toy. Cori’s fiancé, Wayne Polk, also expressed his support, calling her the “strongest person” he knows.
Ongoing Health Challenges and Coping
This recent stroke is not Cori’s first health challenge. Diagnosed with lupus at six years old, she has faced ongoing health issues. Last year, she opened up about coping with lupus, sharing her decision to stop taking medication and adopt natural treatments. “I’ve had medication since I was 6 years old…
I wanted to change because it just became a lot. I’m only 24 years old, taking 10 to 12 pills every single day. So I kind of just went cold Turkey,” Cori explained. She now relies on herbal teas, water, and staying active, which has improved her well-being.
Despite these improvements, Cori acknowledges the continuous struggle and learning process involved in managing her illness.
